3rd Ever Battle of the Youtube Nonstars

Hey Folks,

OK I'm trying to work on that list of things to blog about! So here's a quickie.

I'm taking over the Battle of the Youtube Nonstars.
Started by Jenluv37 Nonstars was a really fun event that I took part in (the 2nd one technically).

Jen game youtubers with less than 1000 subscribers a place to be seen and to meet each other. Then she got knocked up and had no time to do a third one.

So I'm taking over - because, well - nobody's gonna knock me up!

And I want to help give back to the youtube community. Which seems like youtube has been loosing lately, a community. I'm hoping we can preserve the sense of competative spirit that was presnt when I was in nonstars; it was a very friendly atmoshpere, everyone had fun and cheered each other one - even direct compitioin.

I'm going to make Nonstars part of the Failpire regieme so it's homebase will be over at
http://failpire.ning.com/page/battle-of-the-youtube-nonstars

Head over there and keep informed about what's happening with it.
I have to wait for April to finish before I can really get to work on this, so I'm thinking that it'll start in June. Which means I need nominations for youtubers with less than 1000 subscribers

The to do/blog list:
  • Butterflies the Youtube Documentary Screening
  • Behind the scenes of Crank 2 Spoof with Brittani Taylor aka RAT
  • Shane Dawson aka Splenda addict
  • Battle of the Youtube NonStars 3
  • Live Music at Camp Hollywood
  • 2nd Annual SamProof Con aka Youtube Meet up LA May 23rd in Griffith Park

Stay Strong,

-SamProof

PS I'm not calling this the 3rd Annual Battle of the Youtube Nonstars, becuase if it goes over well I might try to do more then 1 a year maybe as many as 4 a year. Just a thought.

Once Twice Three Times A Blogger

OK So I'm trying to make this thing a little more active, catch up on some things I've been meaning to blog about and just actually give the 4 and half people that actually watch this thing some thing to comment on.

(so comment yo - just to say hi or whatever)

But yes more blogs to come.

Here's a quick wrap up of things to come - (this is half to act as a reminder to me, as much as it is to potentially tantalize you in to coming back)

  • Butterflies the Youtube Documentary Screening
  • Behind the scenes of Crank 2 Spoof with Brittani Taylor aka RAT
  • Shane Dawson aka Splenda addict
  • Battle of the Youtube NonStars 3
  • Live Music at Camp Hollywood
  • 2nd Annual SamProof Con aka Youtube Meet up LA May 23rd in Griffith Park
There's probably a few things I'm forgetting but that's a pretty good start. Check back soon

oh yea and follow me on Twitter and join my community for more!

btw - speaking of Battle of the Youtube Nonstars #3

Who are you favorite tubers with less than 1000 subscribers?

Awesomecon 2009 & comiccon 2009

Hey Folks,

So last year I showed up really late for Awesomecon and missed alot of the fun, and more importantly the food! :D

It was really nice meeting all the people and I was really shocked to have gotten such a warm welcome, let alone be recognized. I may have to grow my goatee back just for this.

Anyway, I'm planning on going to comiccon and I've been looking around to try and find info on awesomecon 2009... but pretty much all I find is my previous blog

If anyone knows what's going on, let me know.

Crank Mobbed.

Hey Folks,

This morning I actually woke up before 3pm, in fact I was up at about 10 am.
I had to be up to meet up with BrittaniTaylor aka rhondaanthonytanner and be a thug in her Crank 2 spoof video which will come out later this week.

I took a couple behind the scenes photos, but I left my cable at home so all I have to show for it is this Dailybooth photo of my mortal wounding, after I dropped a 160 pound guy on it. (as a side note... oops. I feel really bad about that, I gave that guy road rash!)

So today I'm crank-ing (huh huh, see what I did there?) through the footage I shot yesterday to get a video up in time for Easter. Then I'll finally finish editing the first of the two poetry collabs.

I'm so freaking busy!

Oh yea as a side note I changed the header graphic over at http://samproof.ning.com/ To reneact my last video. I'm going to try and keep changing the header with every new video (or at least every new significant video). Which means tomorrow there will be a new one for Easter.

Now I just need to score some crank to numb the pain in my finger... huh huh, crank.. see.. oh nevermind.

That's like a whole week! wangoooo!

This poem was a suggestion from Tracy K, thanks Tracy!

Ode by Arthur O'Shaugnessy

We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams.
World-losers and world-forsakers,
Upon whom the pale moon gleams;
Yet we are the movers and shakers,
Of the world forever, it seems.

With wonderful deathless ditties
We build up the world's great cities,
And out of a fabulous story
We fashion an empire's glory:
One man with a dream, at pleasure,
Shall go forth and conquer a crown;
And three with a new song's measure
Can trample an empire down.

We, in the ages lying
In the buried past of the earth,
Built Nineveh with our sighing,
And Babel itself with our mirth;
And o'erthrew them with prophesying
To the old of the new world's worth;
For each age is a dream that is dying,
Or one that is coming to birth.

I Can't Wait to See Naked Babies! wait, what?

Since I've been taking classes at UCB there's been a few teams that are legend. few teams that I've never had the chance to see and it's weighed on my comedic soul.

The Swarm, Power Walkers

Naked Babies - John Ross Bowie, Rob Corddry, Brian Huskey and Seth Morris
There's a good chance you've seen one if not all four in something or other.

LA locals make recognize Bowie as 'Breakfast' from the Jack in the Box Commercials as well as a some other minor thing like some show called Heroes and some movie called 'What the Bleep do we know'?
*Bowie was also my 301 Improv teacher and in that one of my 3 favorite teachers therein

Rob Corddry the baby face of the bunch capped off his career appearing in this video from Ben Swartz (who basically controls all of Hollywood now that Aaron Spelling is out of the picture). This video earned him a modest net of 7 figures and 3 striper wives.

Pretty much the star of 'I Love You Man' Seth Morris, who plays
Barry's Buddy #2 is the real juggernaught of the quartet, as well as being the tallest man on earth. You can find a wax figure of him in the Guiness book museum and Ripley's believe it or not down on Hollywood blvd (and there's a discount package if you throw in the wax museum!)

And last but not least is the n00b Brian Huskey the "Monster in a wheelchair". His bark is worse then his bite though, and you just may have seen him in one of these (I assume these are all web shows) - VH1's Best Week Ever, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Upright Citizens Brigade

Stay Strong,

-SamProof

* I am serious, if you're taking improv at UCB and you get the chance to have Bowie as a teacher I highly recommend.
