The Stickam 2 Million Goal

Hey Folks,

So a few of you have already noticed, I've been live streaming a lot more often lately.
There was a day and time where I used to go live on Stickam nearly every night, and for hours.

Then with work, and life, and anti social behavior I cut back. I started doing the weekly Failpire show. And that was enough for me for a while.

Recently, with the shows getting upwards of 20,000 views on average I've gotten a renewed vim and vigor and I can see crossing the 2 million views line, which brings me about half a million views away from being on the top twenty all time most viewed people on stickam....



So I'm focused on a goal.

I've had two ideas recently; I do the Thursday show regularly at 3pm PST - so I'm thinking of doing another regular show/chat. Possibly on Sundays

I'm also thinking of doing a 24 hour stream, to be tied in with my novel Gone, but to be filled with lots of guests, muscians, youtubers, comedy... like a telethon for my novel.

Friday Show Stats Update

Hey Folks,

I'm totally obsessed with my own stats, as I'm sure most people who make any kind of web content are.

I've decided in some kind of complete transparency to start posting my stickam show stats. Since my hour long show is on thursdays, I'll try to get these up regularly on Fridays (cause after that, the stickam rankings change and you can't find em again!)

I'm not a 100% how the stickam Stream Rank works, but it's the first thing that comes up. So it's pretty much the most important one, and I'm glad to be in the Top 5 (and that's All Channels, not genre specific!)

If you want to get genre specific though... BAMN!

That's me, #1 before the skinny blonde chick and English dude (I love Myles, he's cool)

and then finally this is the Most Watched category.

so just under 24,000 for about an hour and a half of streaming. Go me! :)

Web Sponsorship and scams

Hey Folks,

So I've come to realize that I need a marketing guy, or business partner to handle business type things.

In my efforts to turn Video Fight Club in to something bigger I've reached out to a few "Web networks", Revision3, DailyMotion, etc...

I recieved an email response almost immediately from one of, what I'm going to call one of the smaller of these types of "companies" I use the word loosely.

And in it they quoted me a price of 500 dollars. Not money I would see, but a price per episode to have my material played on their "network" (again I use this term loosely). They also asked for a commitment of 4 episodes.

Here's the email snippet:



I like that they cover the cost to "distribute to iTunes" I know it would really put me out to upload that all by myself (oh wait, Blip.tv automatically syndicates my content to iTunes!)

I get it - they've got an actual studio with big fancy equipment to pay for.

But this isn't how things work.

And further more (and yes I know this particular "company" is on more then just stickam... but) this week my 1 hour show got more views then all their programming for the week on stickam?!

What this tells me is, apparently I could be making more money then I thought (which is roughly .17 cents a day - thank youtube!)

So anyone want to sponsor a one hour webshow? I'll do a "this clip brought to you buy" type of dealie... eat/drink/wear your product... whatever. Let's talk!

What's new in May

So Quick update on stuff.

First I finally got last weeks 'Jenni Likes it!!!!!' segment up on podpocalypse.

And while I'm talking about that, That channel just passed 100 subs already. Thanks guy! Really soon I'll have some cooler stuff to put up there, like musical performances and interviews etc.

Second point of action. Round 1 of Micro NonStars ended yesterday. I'll be posting 2 new battles for Round 2 later today. at http://failpire.ning.com/page/micro-nonstars

Thirdly hmm what the fuck was thirdly.

Oh I may be having Shane Dawson as my guest on this weeks failpire, cross your fingers. Or don't w/e.

I've had this gift certificate for amazon for almost a year. So in honor of my birthday I made a few purchases including a 2 usb extension chords and a multi media card reader (I've had stuff stuck on one of my camera's for months - hence the up and coming music performances for podpocalypse). I got a few other things but it totally escapes me right now... maybe mini dv tapes.

So that's the quick and narrow.

Hanging with the tubers

Hey Folks,

Just came from hanging out with these guys



Now it's 1am and I'm feeling like I need to get some things accomplished.


I don't know what it was but hanging out made me realize I have so many things I've let fall to the waste side and I want to pick them back up before they've lost all steam.

That's part of the problem with being me, I have no less then 100 ideas at any given time that I want to work on. There's only so much time in a day. I need an army of people at my side helping with all the projects. That said I'm glad that Failpire/Podpocalypse has begun to gain a staff.

I'm still looking for more people to help out, especially with some web elements like blogging and searching the web for stuff. So if you're interested in volunteering your time let me know.

3rd Ever Battle of the Youtube Nonstars

Hey Folks,

OK I'm trying to work on that list of things to blog about! So here's a quickie.

I'm taking over the Battle of the Youtube Nonstars.
Started by Jenluv37 Nonstars was a really fun event that I took part in (the 2nd one technically).

Jen game youtubers with less than 1000 subscribers a place to be seen and to meet each other. Then she got knocked up and had no time to do a third one.

So I'm taking over - because, well - nobody's gonna knock me up!

And I want to help give back to the youtube community. Which seems like youtube has been loosing lately, a community. I'm hoping we can preserve the sense of competative spirit that was presnt when I was in nonstars; it was a very friendly atmoshpere, everyone had fun and cheered each other one - even direct compitioin.

I'm going to make Nonstars part of the Failpire regieme so it's homebase will be over at

3rd Annual Youtube Gathering 2009 Hollywood CA

So here's my quick review of the 3rd Annual Youtube Gathering in Hollywood, CA 2009. First off I just want to say - Good F'ing times!

10 AM Crepe Breakfast
So the day started with me rushing down to the cafe, thankfully nearby my apartment. (I have to say I'm on cafe overload these days. I'm there almost every day) Usually I simply get a large coffee and then sit around and make my money back by sucking up band width and electricity.

But what is Crepe breakfast without crepes!? (I really should have taken a picture of my food, I realize this now.)

Anyway I waited around and people started arriving, thank God. For a minute I thought "this is too early, no one is showing up". However it was even better then I thought. there where about ten of us all together and we hung out eating and chit chatting till about 11:30 when we headed out to the gathering.

For the record, I got the 'Savoy' a crepe filled with Nutella and Strawberries. It was amazing.

Noon The Gathering
So as with any gathering, a small cluster of us (mostly the breakfast peeps) found our way to the meeting spot and hung out in front of the stairs to get in as many people's way as possible. Yay us!

In time more and more people showed up. I think the head count was somewhere around 30+ people. We had our share of eCelebs with Katiesopinion, itsbrent, olgakay and Boh3m3. a bunch of seasoned regulars Confidential247, thetalesend, nbwulf, misssarahb and alicecooper

So our banner was on the front page of stickam. I post bulletins all over about going live from the gathering. and then. Boosh.

So here's the deal - we were supposed to get a Nokia from stickam HQ to broadcast through. But Thursday I get an email asking me if I have a simm card, which I don't (Verizon Phone...) so the phone is no go. So I took my laptop, and set it up and honestly I don't know if I was ever actually live and connected of not. I set it all up and closed the laptop for easy carrying and when I opened it later it had done a full shut down. So I'm guessing I was like for 3 seconds and 1 lurker.

Ok.. let's call this part one. I'm getting bored with myself. So here's some more pretty pictures from the gathering. and more to come later.

Failpire - Fails upward!

Hey Folks,

So here's a quick run down on some thing you may or may not know about.

Since July of last year I've been hosting 'Failpire' a weekly late night style talk show, that include interview guests, live musical performances, and a cavalcade of funny videos.
